Smoke detector sensor failure
Has anyone had a problem with installing a smoke detector in their garage? I had my second detector fail in my garage in about a 6 month period. I do not do any wood working or welding or anything I can see that would affect the sensors. I don't run my automobiles other then to move it from the garage. Just out of the blue the sensors go off with the garage door open or closed. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

By "go off", do you mean that you're getting false alarms? Our Smoke Detectors are the photoelectric type - which means they're looking out for small particles that are entering a detection chamber. So smoke particles will trigger, of course, but dust and steam will as well.
So your garage may not be the best place for it!
