Of course you know that our Carbon Monoxide Detector and Smoke Detector do function pretty much like non-SimpliSafe units. The core difference is that they connect to a complete security system and can benefit from monitoring.
According to the NFPA, you should replace your Smoke Detectors every 10 years or so. And Carbon Monoxide Detectors, since they work by a chemical reaction, should only last about 5-7 years. For both of these, you'll get an Error warning (on the Keypad and the app) to let you know it's time.
