CO device alternatives

I am a fairly new user. I would love to rely 100% on Simplisafe and cancel my existing alarm system, but the CO device has been unavailable - and now it has been removed from the web site altogether. Is there any way to integrate a 3rd party CO monitor into the SS system? Any specific brands you can recommend? Thank you@!

There is not. SimpliSafe is a closed system that doesn't work with hardware from other vendors with the sole exception of the August Smart Locks which will work with SimpliSafe.

This has come up before but it's obviously of concern to more and more people @davey_d . Can you a) confirm that the gen 3 CO detector will definitely be available again and b) give us some estimate as to when that will be the case?

@davey_d can you

The CO detector IS still listed for V3: https://simplisafe.com/alarm-sensors

with the full description at https://simplisafe.com/carbon-monoxide-detector

It says it's just out of stock.

This product is out of stock due to supply chain issues. Sorry for the inconvenience. "

@xmtrman

It's been out of stock for so long that I (and others) are starting to question if it's truly just "out of stock" or if it's discontinued which is why I asked for clarification.

I was pointing out that what @bonniet said ["and now it has been removed from the web site altogether. "} was not true.

I would think that if it was, indeed, discontinued, it would be removed but it has not been.

If you go to this page: https://simplisafe.com/build-my-system, the CO detector is not included as a product. I usually go the route linked above (where it is listed but always out of stock), but on this page it's not listed at all.

Sorry, it seems that my link to the build-my-system page might not work, here's a screen shot showing that the CO monitor is not included at all on this page.

Thanks, everyone, for your insights. As @worthing suggests, it would be nice to have more useful information than "out of stock" or "supply chain issues."
