Cascading Alarms while system Off triggered by smoke alarm

Scenario - my daughter and friends are at the house, the alarm is off, and they set off the smoke alarm cooking bacon.

As Expected I got a call from Simpisafe to confirm if that was a valid alarm or not - however once they got up to open a window, the motion sensor tripped and the siren started going off - and then when they got the front door open, the entry sensor alamr tripped -so the call center had actually 3 alarms to ask me about.

Now the system shows it had been disarmed several days before and the kids never touched the keypad, so even though the system was off, we got entry and motion sensor alerts that triggered the call center.

I disarmed the system from the app remotely which turned off the siren and is logged in the event log as a disarm.

What's going on?   Is this a bug?   I'm sure that we've had the food-triggered smoke alarm before and gotten a call we had to clear but never has it also triggered the other sensors.
