Two questions about the locks

1. How good is the range of the lock to the base? I have a lock on the side door in the garage and the app was having a difficult time opening and closing it. It kept saying that it was unable to communicate with the lock. I moved the base from its old location to a closer one and that seemed to clear it up. It wasn't much of a move. The unfortunate part is now the base is no longer hidden. I have an entry sensor on the door and the base has never had a difficult time picking it up.
2. Only one of my locks is sending notifications about being locked and unlocked to my phone. The other one (the garage one) isn't. Even when I am able to lock and unlock it with the app after moving the base station. Is there something that I need to change?

Both locks are on the latest firmware.
