Unfortunately I do not have any information on when the Smart Lock will be back in stock. When I hear more I'll keep you updated.

The best way to lose customer loyalty and interest is poor inventory management. This is a regular feature of Simplisafe. Today it is Smart lock last year it was CO2 earlier also Smart lock was out of stock. You are a HOME SECURITY Brand and if you do not keep your sensors in stock, there is no choice of waiting but to buy competitive products.

Hi,

I find it questionable that after more than 2 months, you don’t have any new information. This is extremely disappointing, and as shanedenis noted, will almost certainly force many of us to choose competitor products.
If you’re unable to provide me with a single suite solution - or even notice as to when you might be able to do so - the value of the service itself becomes an issue of diminishing returns.

Can you explain why you are out of stock? Poor planning or what?

I hope once you get the locks in stock, you offer them first to existing SimpliSafe customers before you put them on your website for the general public.  And giving us a discount is warranted. I've been a loyal SimpliSafe customer over six years; we deserve and expect better service.

I agree I have been watching for MONTHS  and now after reading all these reviews of people waiting and lack of answers on when they will be back in stock I may have to look at replacing my system.

The response I keep getting from support is "Supply Chain Issues". At this point, other companies have found solutions for this. It's just a "sweep under the carpet" response at this point. Very disappointed. They also mentioned I'll be notified when it's back in stock. But I cannot find these notification settings anywhere. I really do believe inventory is extremely mismanaged and just utter incompetence with communications at this point.

Prove us wrong SimpliSafeNeverInStock.

Thanks to all the other Simplisafe users for this thread.  I was going to try to wait out the item or contact Simplisafe for an update on when the lock will be available but that is clearly not a priority for them.  I will be purchasing a competitor's lock but sure wish I could have for my existing system.

I might be right behind you.  If SimpliSafe would give us a complete answer, I might hold off.  Are they working on an updated version, are there supply issues, what is the delay!?

At this point, we might as well assume they have discontinued the product. We bought a new house 4 months ago and wanted to install the smartlocks as they integrate with the security system, but there is only so long we can wait and there isn’t even a timeline for when they will become available. I just wish I could somehow integrate another smartlock with the alarm so that I don’t need to use multiple apps.

I agree with this. We have been waiting on adding the remaining locks but it’s been months and I’ve not gotten a different answer other than’ we don’t have an estimated time frame.’ I don’t enjoy having to use multiple apps. So it’s pretty frustrating.

It's very interesting to me that SimpliSafe doesn't provide any transparent details other than 'production issues' after so many months. 


However, since the smart locks from SimpliSafe are holding up so many people with current SimpliSafe systems awaiting the smart lock, an alternative smart lock by the company August will work with the SimpliSafe system. There are 3 current models from August that will work.

Update for anyone considering alternatives: went ahead and purchased an August smartlock (thank you for the pointer nemmie!). Lock works great and you can integrate to the extent that you can have the doors lock / unlock when you arm / disarm the alarm. However, there is no option to disarm the alarm when you unlock the August lock using the keypad, which is something I really liked about the Simplisafe smartlock. (Or at least I have not figured out a way to do it). Also, you need to use multiple apps and configure PINs twice. Still, so much better than just waiting for Simplisafe to grace us with some kind of update.
