Smart Lock Integrations

Hi all,

I'm a new simplisafe customer and currently evaluating the system in my home.

I've been doing a little research into smart locks, and I'm currently importing a single cylinder deadbolt for my front door (I live in the UK [my door is made from wood, so the deadbolt should fit!]), and I'm just wondering if anybody has successfully installed a simplisafe compatible smart lock.

I'm guessing the answer is no, but just wanted to check with other users as to their experiences. Given that I don't see the simplisafe lock on my keypad under the 'Add device' sub menu, I'm assuming a simplisafe lock is out of the question?

I did also read that US based customers have access to an August Smart Lock integration available in the web interface, but unfortunately this seems to be unavailable in the UK too.

I have to admit, I don't really understand the full reasoning behind not allowing UK users integration with August Smart Locks, but I'm guessing there'll be a good reason I'm not privy to. As for the simplisafe lock not being in the keypad menu, I guess I can kind of understand that one, given that the product is not sold or supported in the UK, it would only add to confusion if it's in the keypad menu.

In any case, maybe someone here can share their experiences or shed any light on possible solutions?

SS is tightly controlled as to integration,  so it is highly likely that ONLY the August and the Simplisafe lock will work with the system.

Note that in order to use the SS lock, you need to apply an update, and that update may include the lock on the keypad device list.

Yeah either the Simplisafe lock or the August would be fine to be honest, as I'm only really looking at those two options at the moment.

For some reason, I'm stuck on version 1.3.4 and despite contacting customer services have been unable to get this resolved as of yet.

I wonder whether this might be an issue with having a UK based system? On the sticky post here; https://simplisafe.co.uk/forum/customer-support-forum/installing-and-using-simplisafe/firmware1_6-april2020 - it appears other customers are facing the same issue.

Will try and resolve and post back if I have an update for anyone coming back to this thread.

It's really annoying. I contacted Simplisafe twice to send the update to the new basestation and keypad before the Simplisafe lock can be updated (it keeps saying 1.1.1 update available and tech support said firmware available is up to 1.6!). But the updates never arrive. Decided to return the SS lock.
