SimpliSafe's Smart Lock installs over your existing single-cylinder deadbolt, replacing the inside piece where the thumbturn is but keeping the rest of the deadbolt intact. That way, you can use the same Key to enter your house manually.
The benefit is that the Smart Lock can also unlock the door for you, through the included remote PIN Pad (which can be placed anywhere nearby) and the SimpliSafe app.
And since it's part of the SimpliSafe system, the Smart Lock uses the same PINs as your security system. And you can disarm the system and unlock the door in one step.
