Outdoor Camera buzzing when active
Our camera engineering team is investigating a rare issue with the Outdoor Camera, which generates a loud buzzing when activated - e.g. when livestreaming from the SimpliSafe app. The noise seems to be coming from the unit itself, and not just the camera feed.
We have not yet found a cause, but if you are experiencing this issue, please let us know here.

My gut feeling is Simplisafe have identified the cause of the buzzing but don't want to incur any expenses in replacement units. Just today (4-12-2023) the alarm was triggered and then I went to look and all the locks were closed but when I activated one of the cameras there was an intense buzzing noise. I went to the camera making this noise and I could feel vibrations inside the camera. This thread started in December. How can it be taking so long to identify the prob.

One of my five cameras has been buzzing for months. I’m just getting around to investigating the problem. It prevents me from easily communicating with visitors but it does alert them and draw attention to the camera when I use it.

Same problem. I received a replacement camera today (old one failed) and this one buzzes, previous one did not.

We have had this issue since we installed the system over a year ago. Makes it very difficult to view the live feed on our outdoor camera.
Hopefully it will be corrected soon. Not really happy with the system overall. It seems very temperamental and goes offline constantly. Many many calls for help and a new base station over the last few months.

Yes let us know what workaround you propose until root cause is determined. Thought is was bugs in the mic aperture but that was not the issue.

One of our two outdoor cameras is exhibiting this issue. It just started today. The buzzing only occurs when accessed via iPhone app (on both my wife's and my phone). It does not occur when accessing via computer. Would love an update when there is a fix.
