Wireless Doorbell

I know a big part of Simplisafe is it being affordable and wireless. Can you please come out with a wireless doorbell camera for your customers! I don't want all these brands for my security system. It would complete the whole system if this were to come out.

While we can't give out any info on products that are currently in development, if you'd like to be notified when a new product is released, make sure that you have enabled New Product Announcements in your accounts Email Preferences. Can you make WIRELESS video door bell available now for folks who do NOT have existing wiring for a door bell? This is a product request. WIRELESS door bell is needed.

I have been a satisfied Simplisafe customer for years.  Your suite of security devices is nearly complete, especially with the addition of the wireless outdoor camera.  I would like to add my vote for the development of a WIRELESS doorbell cam.   I rent a townhome and although my Simplisafe system provides me with total peace of mind over the security of my home, I would really appreciate the ability to monitor my front door and package deliveries.   I am resisting the purchase of a competitor product because I trust the Simplisafe brand and prefer to integrate my home security under a single TRUSTED system.  I remain hopeful Simplisafe will release a wireless doorbell cam in the near future.

Agree with wireless.  Newer homes don't have doorbell electrical outlets and would like battery option just like outdoor camera.

The video doorbell should be wireless. It seems ridiculous that on a system designed to be wireless that you would make the video doorbell wired in order to work. The ring doorbell has an option to work without the doorbell. Wish this was a future feature for SimpliSafe.

@wkuchickadee I do agree with you. Battery power would offer way more flexibility in installation options. But of course, there would also be performance concerns, so it would be vital to balance that.

This is an excellent post. Please upvote this so SimpliSafe recognizes and acts on this need. 

WIRELESS video door bell is needed.

SimpliSafe should figure out their  performance standards and balance the sustainable battery life in order to  give customers a quality product so please figure  this out and engineer a competitive product and supply a much needed   WIRELESS door bell. 


Not everyone has an existing wiring to connect the door bell to —

Offering a doorbell cam that does not require previous wiring would open the market for apartments, doors other than the front, etc. Since the base station chimes anyway, it would just be a matter of battery life.

I agree that a wireless doorbell would be best. In the meantime, I purchased an AC adapter/transformer on Amazon compatible with Simplisafe that just plugs into an outlet inside below my window. The cord runs out the corner of the window to the doorbell and I have the wire tucked underneath the house siding along the way. You literally can’t even tell any wire is there! This may help someone who isn’t keen on installing their own doorbell wiring or who doesn’t want to spend all the money to have it installed.
