Why would SimpliSafe put a "No link to dispatcher" message on my keypads

Why would SimpliSafe put a "No link to dispatcher" message on my keypads.  As of a few months ago I did not have this issue.  They informed me its is because I am not paying for active monitoring, which is true.  My question to them was, Why would you put a message on the keypad that essentially notifies intruders that no one has been notified and no one is coming?

Hi @lorenz1127 ,

From what you've written, it sounds like you have a SimpliSafe Original system. This is a known issue with that particular generation, and we do have some ways of resolving it through our Support team.

Looking into your account records, I do see you were able to get in touch with an agent, and we've got a solution in mind already! But if you need any further assistance, please let us know.

I was told that the solution was to pay for active monitoring or take a discount to buy a whole new system, neither of which interests me.
