key chain/fob doesn't appear to be working

My old model key chain or fob doesn't appear to be working. can I test it other than just hitting the away button? When I check my account under devices, it shows it is enabled. It possibly is a dead battery but wanted to see if there is a way to check it either on my laptop or on the keypad without having to call into customer "Service.".

Why would you bother to call customer service?   Replace the battery and if that doesn't fix it then call.

One of the agents mentioned in another response that the key fob battery is not replaceable (along with base station and indoor cams).

Apologies, this thread had been miscategorized. The SimpliSafe Original Key Fob is a little chunkier, so it could accomodate a replaceable battery.

The Gen 3 (current gen) Key Fob does not have a replaceable battery.

The Base Station's batteries are rechargeable NiMH, and they stay charged as long as the Base Station is plugged in. So no need to replace for a long time. But if you do ever need to replace them, you should only use NiMH (nickel metal hydride) type batteries.

The Indoor Camera is powered by AC, and does not have a battery at all.
