How far away from wifi extender should the motion sensor be placed?

How close is the Wi-Fi extender to your sensor? I would try moving it a few feet away from the Motion Sensor.

There are a few different factors that would cause a Motion Sensor to trigger a false alarm, like pets, direct sunlight hitting the sensor, or heating/AC vents drastically changing the temperature around the sensor. In this Help Center article, we dive into these potential factors a little bit more and list additional troubleshooting tips.

If you really have the original system I would really think about switching to the newest simplisafe 3 system and I believe there is a huge discount for everything. It gets security updates and is for superior to the original.
