After installing 4G module, no wifi found on Simplisafe

I am having this same issue. Is there any help/guidance someone can give me? I am attempting to access wifi through keypad. I can't access my system through my computer, it time's out.

@james_4df73e​ I'm not quite clear on what you're seeing. Were you able to successfully connect WiFi through your Keypad? And you're getting an error when you try to control your system through the app?

If you go into the Keypad Menu and navigate to System Settings > Diagnostics, it should be able to tell you if WiFi is truly connected. And if so, then the issue might be on the app end.

Search reddit for it. It's how I found the solution. Not here. Can't recall what I did

@Mjohnson​ found this Reddit tip which actually worked: Try to unplug your base station, remove a battery while unplugged, and then only plug the power cable back in. You should be able to find your wifi network to join.

Thank you! Unplugging, removing battery, plugging back allowed me to find WiFi. After, I put battery back in and all seems good now. Much appreciated.

@Mjohnson​ Many many thanks for this.  After spending more than a few minutes trying to connect my WiFi, this worked like a charm. 

@james_4df73e​ sounds like a standard Base Station Reset is what did the trick for you. Glad to hear it!

@davey_d​ I just installed the new hardware, and for the first time I am not happy with this company.  First, it takes real muscle to take the top part of the tower off.  Second, a set of small screwdrivers is needed to install the hardware, and that is something most people do not have (fortunately, I do).  Third, the screw to remove the old hardware is a b--ch, and easily stripped.  Finally, connecting to WiFi requires a search if one doesn't care to reset the router. 

Bottom line:  People should be told in advance what to expect.  I imagine there is a lot of folks out there cursing SimpliSafe's name.

The good news is that the 4th generation cell network (4G) should be active for the long term. So we don't anticipate you having to do a chip swap like this again for a very long time!
