Activating Monitoring

Ive installed my system. I go to activate monitoring and it asks for the serial # on the base station which I input. It then gives me an error stating this is already active. Please help.

@montecarlo26  I would start by making sure you are not already signed up.

Try this first process.  Set system to home.  Next open a window or door that has an entry system to instant alert. Siren will go off.  Wait for two minutes and see if you get a phone call from monitoring. No? Then you are not active. I would call the toll free number and, since hold times are very long, first hit the option for activating your new system.  If its too long, hang up, call back in and choose sales.

BTW, don't want to miss this, did you sign into  your account at the website and try to activate monitoring there?

Yes ive tried from both website and iphone AP.  On the app it does not let me change my alarm status so i can't see that I'm active.  A bit disappointed with this system.

Corrected the issue. Wife had set up a different account and it was being monitored under this one.  No fault of SS user error on my part

@jamiecunningham this should make you feel better.  When I got my first system, SS2, in 2012 I got smoke sensors the next year when they came out, one for each of our 4 bedrooms and two more for the first floor.  Kept getting false alarms about 3 months later and was not happy with SS.  My wife asked me "did you read the manual?" Nope, never did and I downloaed it from their website. My wife quickly found out the error of my ways after I got back from Costco with a case of compressed air and was cleaning each of the smoke sensors.

No issues since then on my SS3 system and I do clean them faithly on a bimonthly basis. :-) Yeah, sometimes our fault, sometimes SS.

Enjoy your new system!
