WiFi blockers

Given the arrest and the highlighted use of WiFi blockers to circumvent systems, what is SimplySafe doing to mitigate this.  What are our options?  These criminals had zero trouble getting through systems relying on WiFi.  Please advise.

Hi @michaelg1966,

Wi-Fi as a technology already has its own built-in resistance to jamming. But if you create an "Ideas" post in the Product Requests and Suggestions section of the Community for a SimpliSafe technology to help prevent Wi-Fi jamming, we can bring it to our product team.

The system only uses WiFi for the base station to monitoring comms, and also for video from the cameras if activated. If there's an alarm and the WiFi is down, or being jammed, it'll use the cellular radio.

All the sensors use a much lower comms frequency than 2.4 GHz. Cell signals can use 700 MHz or the 1.9 GHz band, and there's a few others too. It would be quite a stretch for some criminal to be able to jam every signal from outside a house, it would take quite a bit of broadcast power, and still no guarantee it'll work. That base station is going to keep trying to phone home for at least 4 minutes or more, and it only needs to be able to get through once...
