Support for 5 ghz
Are there plans for a 5 ghz Simplisafe base station? I would like to upgrade my existing Netgear modem - Orbi wireless routers, but there is conflicting information about whether 2.4 ghz devices, including Simplisafe would be supported with upgraded devices. If there are plans for a 5 ghz system enhancement, does anyone know of the timeline for the updates? Thank you.

@mgbphoto Sorry, can't help you with the question of 5 ghz and Simplisafe but can tell you a good mesh system will automatically connect to 2.4 if 5 fails. Google WIFI (original) does just fine with my SS3 and 50+ components and, as I am told from three friends that have SS3 systems and Google WIFI Pro (latest) it works fine with 2.4 also. I would think it would be the same with Orbi.

Hello @mgbphoto,
SimpliSafe devices can only connect to 2.4GHz networks. If you do upgrade your current modem, I would make sure that it allows you to set up a 2.4GHz band or guest network so you can connect your SimpliSafe devices to it.
