Is the Refferal Program a Scam

I've referred a family member and used the link provided to me by simplisafe to do so.  I've called support several times and they keep telling me to "wait X number of days and you will get the email to complete the process".  The email never comes.  Its been over 6 months and I've still not received anything for referring a friend and all I get is the run around.  This is false advertising plain and simple if simplisafe is not going to follow through on what they advertise as a promotion.  Can someone who understands this process contact me to help me resolve it?

I'm so sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble. The Referral process is a separate system that our agents don't have direct access over, which is why it's difficult for us to troubleshoot. But I've requested a call from our escalated team and hopefully we can get this figured out for you.

I do not think you will get your promised referral money. In Nov 2022, Simplisafe offered a $100 referral Visa card. I referred 2 people. I waited for months for the Visa cards and finally called Simplisafe.  I was told that it wasn't in their control, that I needed to contact the company that deals with their reward program. That company was Tremendous. I got in contact with Tremendous and they said all they did was send out the visa card after Simplisafe sends them the info to do so. I called SimpliSafe again and they send me back to Tremendous. The tremendous person told me that they were getting a lot of calls from people asking the same thing that I was. Because that's what SimpliSafe was telling everyone to do that was calling about their visa card.  I asked for a supervisor on my final call to SimpliSafe and I was on hold for 48 minutes for her to get on the phone with me. It seemed they were doing anything they could to just make me go away and stop bothering them. Hoping I would just hang up.

 I filed information with the state attorney were they are located and with the Better Business Bureau. Simplisafe's response to my better business Bureau complaint  was, that they responded to me, and so the BBB closed the case.  Although all SimpliSafe did was respond to me that they would look into it my complaint.

 

SimpliSafe finally told me that the reason I don't get the Visa card is because  the friends I referred did not enter my email in the correct spots when they were ordering their systems that would allow me to get the Visa card. The spot that you're supposed to enter the email was not anywhere easy to see. Nor was there anything on their page that offered the -referral visa card- to tell you that this needed to be done.

SimpliSafe seems to be a very dishonest company.

@Rocketboat A customer of 13+ years, SS is one of the most customer centric companies I have experienced over the years.  I have referred and placed over 36 systems and have never taken a referral as that would, at least to me, give the impression I did it for the money. For full disclosure, being an ADT customer for 10+, that is a very dishonest company in my opinion.

That all said, SS is not perfect (far from it) and as with any company there are agents that will ply the company line, as trained, and you have to have your issue(s) escalated.  In your instance, I agree, if a company picks a 3rd party to outsource any activity, the "you have to contact them to resolve the issue" is fine for a first try but ultimately the company that hired them is responsible for their performance, good or bad.  I suggest you contact customer service, provide the information they will need to investigate and request a call back.  I trust you will be satisfied at the end.

It seems that captain11 is someone that works for Simplisafe. You have many post on this site defending SS, and also bashing ADT.  6000 responses in total.

Do not blame the 3rd party. 

I already provided them the information. I called customer service, and they verified that I had actually referred people. They said they could see my email used in the purchases of the people I referred. They told me that the people making the purchases messed up, because they didn't use a mysterious link that everybody else also described as being a problem. So don't blame a 3rd party, you are doing exactly what customer service did to me when I called. All SS was going to do for me was give me a free month of monitoring. I'm sure in the hopes of getting me to pay for this service in the future.  

SIMPLISAFE IS RUNNING A SCAM!!!!
