Feature requests

Hi,

I've had simplisafe for a couple of months and so far I like it. I have most of the sensors

I have some feature requests though:

- It would be nice to see more integrations with Alexa and Google Assistant. Viewing video feed from doorbell and camera on echo show and nest hub would be awesome.
- For doorbell specifically, receiving an actual phone call would be great. Kinda like what ring does. I usually miss the "ding dong" notification.

Hi all!

We have a full Product Requests section here, where you can submit individual ideas, and is monitored by our Product team.

All of the requests mentioned in this thread have been mentioned, including @artcook's suggestion for Landscape Mode. Chime in there to let our devs know you're interested!

I've had SimpliSafe for quite a while, 5+ years, happy with the system.  But like you, I would like to see an upgraded Alexa skill  to allow us to have a video stream upon doorbell activation.  That would be most convenient.

I would love to see tamper switches installed in the base station at least, and for maximum safety in all devices that aren’t a key fob. These are small switches that could be installed under the battery cover and top cover of the base and would kick the system into instant alarm if one of them is tripped while the system was armed. This would be a far more reliable indicator of tampering than checking the power state during countdown and would add an extra degree of reliability that other DIY systems just don’t have. Also would be nice to see shock detection on door/window switches and encrypted communication between sensors and base station. These things could really set SimpliSafe apart from the competition with the next generation of hardware!

Encryption of the signal(s) between sensors and the base station is a excellent idea.  Any criminal burglar with only 1/2 a brain knows how to jam a 2.4 Ghz RF signal which would render your system useless!

Actually base station signals are 433MHz from my understanding…

LOW BATTERY NOFICATION

It would be very useful to get a notification as soon as the system detects that a device has a low battery.  I was not aware that I had a low battery on a door sensor until I checked the app for something else and saw the notice at the top.

@edadk Battery Low notifications fall under the Warning Category. If you turn this notification type on, you will be notified whenever a device has a low battery.

This can be done in the SimpliSafe mobile app by going to My System > Alerts & Notifications > Push Notifications and toggle the Warnings setting on.

And real-time updates on alarm status!! Shouldn’t have to pull down to check status on the app…

How about getting the iPad app to work in landscape mode?  Every time I open the SimpliSafe app on my iPad, I have to pick it up an rotate it 90 degrees.
