Video Doorbell in Winter Weather

I am considering the purchase of a video doorbell. While doing my research, I read a review that the Simplisafe Video Doorbell does not work if the temperature is below 14 degrees or it gets wet. Is this accurate? I don't understand why Simplisafe would make an outdoor product that was not at least weather-resistant. Half the country will be experiencing temperatures below 14 degrees this winter, so, if true, that would be mind-boggling. Thank you for any information.

I have two video doorbells here in Ohio, and neither has stopped working due to the cold, rain, or snow. Yesterday afternoon I got phone notification that motion was detected at one door, and when I opened the app I found out the detected motion was sleet hitting the doorbell. But, the video doorbell continued working. We have had temperatures below zero, and the video doorbell continued working.

@shannonmwhitworth I am in the greater Chicagoland area and the doorbell has survived going on 2 winters, including temps way below zero. Works fine.
