Video delay

I get notified in a timely manner when someone approaches the door.  But by the time I see their picture, they're already gone.  This defeats the purpose of having a camera.  I don't have blazing wi-fi speed, but I have 12 Mbps download and 4 Mbps upload, and I have a wi-fi signal booster near the door.  My software is up to date and I have a relatively new router.  Any ideas?

@jpaulsonsr My first suggestion is to use the excellent "ConnectionCheck" tool that is in the phone app. Even if you don't use the app on a regular basis, or even not at all, it would be worth installing it and using it to diagnose the possible root cause.  The tool will show signal strength and upload speeds, with possible steps to solve it. If that doesn't help, call support to troubleshoot.  Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.  Thanks!

I have the same issue, but I have the faster Wi-Fi offered and always have full blue bars on the connection test from SimpliSafe. Very frustrating!

I have used ConnectionCheck and added range extenders but there is always a delay between someone walking into "The object zone", to the time that the motion sensor activates and camera  awakens.

I have an older Samsung camera that activates and notifies me almost instantly. What gives with SimplySafe?  Is the an issue with Ring as well?

@CamDelaysStink Ring is 1000 times better than simpliunsafe cameras.

@CamDelaysStink Our cameras do also rely on their connection to the Base Station to wake up and begin recording. Troubleshooting the camera and Base Station's connection can help improve recording times.

If you haven't already, I would recommend moving the Base Station a little closer to this camera. It can also help to remove any dense physical objects in the direct path between your Base Station and camera (like heavy appliances) and place the Base Station away from other wireless devices (like garage door openers, baby monitors, and wireless weather stations).

This has been going on for years and simpliunsafe still hasn't fixed it. Your best bet is to return the cameras .
