Hi @kepster9312,

If you have multiple cameras that are having this issue, it may be that they have not the proper settings to have Night Vision set to Auto. In that case, I recommend power cycling your SimpliCams to see if that fixes the issue. If you have just one SimpliCam with this issue it may be best for you to contact our Support Team either by phone or email.

I have tried the restarts and still have the issue. Is there a way that o can adjust the lighting when they should go into night mode

Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the sensitivity of the Night Vision Sensor. Have you tried shining a light at the SimpliCam? That should help determine if the issue is related to the amount of light that the sensor is getting. If you do give this a try please note that the Night Vision Sensor is located on the frontmost portion of the SimpliCam directly below the lens.

Have you tried taking the sleeves off since they're indoors?

I have cut the sleeves down around the lens with the same issue also to get them to go out of night mode I had to use very bright flashlight appointed directly at it to get it to switch. They should have a option to set the cameras to know different light situations

Why are you using the sleeves indoors? Have you tried taking the sleeves off since they're indoors?

I was going to try that next. I will let you know if it changes. Why would the sleeves make a difference?

Not sure, but since I don't have them my only frame of reference is without.

how does your camera react with the light changes with being up high near the ceiling with light coming through a window or a single light on the room

My cams are about half way up the wall. In one place there is a torchiere floor lamp that's roughly 5 feet from a cam. about 45 degrees off axis. The light from the lamp shines predominantly on the ceiling. In that torchiere I use a Phillips Hue LED bulb (60W equivalent). Even with the color set to white and intensity set to maximum that lamp alone won't kick it out of night mode.

When I open the blinds on the East facing windows ~10ft from the cam, it depends on the position of the sun and whether it's clear or cloudy when the cam will kick out of night mode.

To me it sounds like that aspect of your cams is working similarly to mine inasmuch as they seem to require a fair amount of light to kick out of night mode. Seems like they took a conservative approach in the automatic mode. Switches on fairly easily but switches off a bit harder, so to speak. It may not provide optimal results in every situation.

I agree. A feature for them to add would be a way to be able to adjust the amount of lighting it takes the camera out of night mode or something similar. Lorex actually has something similar but doesnt tie into simplisafe system. I have one right above the sliding glass door when the sun is out then camera comes out of night mode. The one facing the hallway and entry there is a light right in front of the camera but the camera still is in night mode same with the dining room and kitchen camera. the only way to get the one in the kitchen is to have the kitchen light on and maybe the dining room light but having one light on is not enough. At least they have the automatic night mode but have it not be where it has to be so much light to just get it out of night mode. Even an update in the software that determines that might be able to help the issue
