SimpliCam Upgrades?

Have there been any upgrades to SimpliCams over the last two years?
If I purchased a new one, would it be exactly the same as the two I purchased in April 2018? I'm not having very good luck with these.

There is only one model of SimpliCam so far. They have 3 year warranty. What do you mean exactly by 'not very good luck'?

The video quality is poor, especially night vision video, and it lags pretty bad. When I try to view live video, it constantly tells me that the camera is offline, or it goes offline in the middle of watching it (in less than 60 seconds). If I paid for video recording, it would probably be pointless. I have excellent internet speed and I have cameras from another manufacturer that I very rarely have any problems with, so it's undoubtably the sub-par SimpliSafe camera quality. It's not really a warranty issue, it's just underperformance, and it's really frustrating.

Get the Speedtest.net app on a smartphone and put the smartphone in the exact spot the camera is in, then press Go to start the speedtest.  2 mbps (or more) Upload speed is important to see there in that camera's location.

I just tested it, and the upload speed is 10.5mbps and download speed is 230mbps. It's not my internet. Again, I have excellent internet speed, and my cameras from another manufacturer work just fine and have great video quality, both day and night. I pay the other company for video recording/monitoring and just use my SimpliCams to check on my dogs once in a while, but the majority of the time, one or both of the cameras are offline, or they go offline after watching live for +/- 60 seconds. Most of the time, the video lags as well. It's either in slow motion or keeps pausing and catching back up to live streaming every few seconds. My dog will be on one side of the room one second, and the next he will appear on the other side of the room, but I won't have seen him walk there. I'd like to use SimpliSafe for video recording instead of the other company, but until they upgrade the cameras, I'll have to use SimpliSafe for home sensor monitoring only. I have zero complaints about their monitoring service. It has been excellent. It's just the cameras.

Well, if you want new, functional cameras, don't bother. We just signed up for a new system. Install was easy, except their cameras don't work. They have a "known firmware' issue, but apparently don't know how to fix it. Eight cameras later, we are returning our complete system for a refund. SimpliSafe does not have a functioning product, so, no thanks.
