I have to say, the simplicam is ridden with issues. Our camera constantly goes offline while the system is armed and we are away. Customer service response is always to reset the camera. What is the point of having it if it never works when we are away? Now considering a different system...

Since the cameras do have to connect through WiFi, there are a lot of different factors that can affect performance, and we would really recommend giving us a call again at 800-548-9508 for more in-depth troubleshooting.
However, we can say that there are a couple of issues in particular that come up the most. First, transmitting video rapidly does require a fairly fast internet connection. We recommend 1.5mbps upload for each camera in your system, since they would all be transmitting at the same time.
While you're troubleshooting, it might also help to decrease the video quality to 480p, so that the camera won't have to send as much data at the same time.
The other major issue is the strength of the signal. The further away the device is from your WiFi router, the more difficult it is to send the signal. Physical objects and other wireless signals would decrease that range even more. Most users won't necessarily be able to just move your WiFi router.
