Simplicam Flashing yellow

I am trying to install the simplicam and it keeps just flashing yellow.  It is about 15 feet from the router and in the kitchen.  How long does it take for it to be good to go?

According to this (https://simplisafe.com/forum/customer-support-forum/installing-and-using-simplisafe/camera-blue-light-is-randomly#comment-1132467), flashing yellow means the camera cannot connect to SS backend server.

SimpliCam only works on 2.4GHz WiFi. Ensure your phone that is generating the QR code is connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi. If 2.4 and 5GHz networks are named the same, disable 5GHz temporarily, or name it something differently (at least temporarily). Then reset the camera and scan the QR code again.

If this isn't the problem, or didn;t help, contact SS for additional help. Do not get off the phone with them until the issue is resolved.

One thing we should make sure of. If you unplug your SimpliCam and plug it in again, does it start flashing yellow immediately? if so, the issue would be that it's attempting to boot but is failing.
If so, you can try a firmware reset of the SimpliCam by pressing the button on the top for 16 seconds. That will wipe the memory, so you can start over with the installation process.

But yes, the blinking yellow light normally means that the unit is actually connected to WiFi (that is, it was already able to connect to your 2.4GHz network). But something in your router is blocking the connection to our website. In that case, you might want to check in with your ISP about how to "whitelist" the SimpliCam.

If you still have issues, give us a call at 1-888-957-4675. Our Support team can gather more info to get that SimpliCam working!

So, I just installed my SimpliSafe doorbell camera after about 2-3 hours total. I was having a hard time with the flashing yellow as well. My problem started because I couldn't get the QR code to scan from my phone during install so when I called the rep told me to use a website qifi.org to create my own qr reader from my tablet so the screen was larger. This did allow my doorbell to read the code however I constantly got the flashing yellow every time I reset and tried. I spent an hour on the phone with support after that constantly trying to reset, get my router closer, reset and repeat. I even asked him if the QR code had to come from the app and he said it did not but his only other recommendation was to return the doorbell unit which came as a set so I would have needed to remove all of the other pieces of equipment as well.

Fast forward today I took a guess that even though last night I was told I didn't need to use a QR code from the app, I thought that seemed odd since the app asks about location data as well that the doorbell may need to sync to my account. I decide to take a screenshot of the QR code that generated from my phone and send it to my tablet and literally 45 seconds later the camera was working perfectly. Avoided removing equipment and returning anything,
