Random NTP Connections from Cameras?

Has anyone else noticed their SS cameras reaching out to crazy random servers all over the world with NTP traffic?  I'm sitting behind a PaloAlto firewall so I have decent visibility to my traffic.  Today I noticed that the cameras specifically are sending NTP traffic (UDP port 123) out to dozens of destinations, not just in the US but in other countries as well.  I'm planning to contact simplisafe.....this make zero sense to me.  I'm about to start proactively blocking these destinations and see what (if anything) breaks.  Just curious what others might be seeing.

Cheers!

That is indeed a little odd. As you might know, NTP stands for "Network Time Protocol", i.e. is for synchronizing time. So your devices shouldn't be reaching out to random destinations. The good news is that no other traffic (especially not your private data, like log events and videos) go through that.

I will of course be reporting this to our dev team.
