Pretty frequent camera glitches

I have two cameras installed and of course they record a bit when the system is armed or disarmed.  Often when I'm viewing the timeline, I will see this flashing on the screen for each of the cameras.

No Video
We've lost this part of recording due to some internet issues with your camera.

It's on both cameras.  I have a 1Gb/1Gb fiber connection with a top of the line Netgear router.  Sometimes I am able to actually play the videos and sometimes I just get a black screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Your cameras are having trouble uploading video for some reason.  Could be wireless congestion, meaning your router is on a frequency that too many neighbors are using.  Check and make sure your 2.4ghz is only using a 20meg channel.  40 can be prone to problems if you live in a neighborhood.  Also try other channels on the 2.4.  Most routers look for a clean one on power cycle, but worth trying.

I saw you post speed test results in another thread, did you run that test on your 2.4 network from the same wireless location as the camera?

I just tested it:

85.34/81.76

I will try and see about changing the channels.

1080p is not an option on the app.  It only shows 720p and 480p.

@usmaak yes you are right and that's my bad i meant to say 720 then i switched it to 480 and it resolved it but it was late at night lol i was also thinking of my exterior cameras

Also try to decrease the resolution of the camera from the app. I had the same problem when i had ours on 720 but i brought it down to 480p and it worked. The higher resolution the more it takes from your internet. So since doing this it works and never had any issues.

Did these cams just recently get installed?  You may need a couple days for them to find and install their latest software.  Early versions were a bit buggy.  Your wifi sounds more than capable so I don't think the issue is there unless your ISP or router are doing something really nonstandard.  You're not using a VPN are you?

I would also try a ping test.  Test your 2.4 network from a computer and try pinging 8.8.8.8 which is owned by Google and see what the latency is.  A better test would be pinging simplisafe, but I haven't found a pingable IP address of theirs yet.

I am not using a VPN.  Everything is out of the box as it gets.  I have a different router that I could try as a troubleshooting step.

I have had the cameras hooked up for 5 days now.

Firmware 2.5.2.76 is on both cameras.

Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=58

Those are very good ping times.  I guess your next stop is SS hold music.  :(
