Point indoor camera, out

I have windows where I would want to record movement. Instead of having to purchase outdoor cameras, can I use the indoor camera instead?

Will the motion detection work through the window?

Will the night vision work?

Hi @ebusque ,

I'm sorry to say, but neither the built-in Motion Sensor nor the Night Vision would be able to work through a window. Both functions use infrared light, which would be blocked by the window glass.

Can we use an outdoor camera but have inside looking out the window rather than putting holds in the front of the house

@eric123​ Similar to the SimpliCam, the Outdoor Camera also uses infrared light for Night Vision and to detect motion. The window glass will impact its sensitivity, so we do not recommend having an Outdoor Camera looking out of a window.
