"Wireless" means the signal is wireless, not that there are no wires. "Battery powered" is the descriptor you are looking for.
SS will probably "never" have a camera with lighting, and remote siren activation likely won't be any time soon. Their current design philosophy seems to be that the cameras don't talk to the alarm system directly.

Of course, that could have only been a seed in SS's eye at the time, and the camera might be something completely different by now, if we ever see it.

It could mean they're trying to clear stock of the outdoor kits before they start selling the outdoor cameras, or it could mean that they've scrapped the outdoor camera and decided the rubber raincoat is good enough.
