Outdoor Camera Setting Update?
Just got two outdoor cameras to add to the system, and perhaps I was being overly optimistic but figured I could absolutely arm/disarm them similar to the rest of my SS devices. For example, I have one monitoring my back deck/door, and the spotlight, motion sensor, recordings and notification all work great EXCEPT I only want to use those features when the system's armed. Whenever I go out to do anything I end up with countless videos and notifications, as well as the spotlight going off. I know you can adjust sensitivity, but this is exactly what I want when I've got the house in Away or Home modes. I can choose what almost every device does based on what mode is on, why is this different?
Even if this is how the camera functions, how can I not choose what notifications to receive based on what mode it's in. I know I can turn them off, but I want to receive an instant notification if the system is armed and the motion sensor's tripped. I'd even go so far as to say that's the whole reason why I own the thing.
I'll put it in another message, but I'm similarly confused as to why I have to take a minute long video with my indoor camera every time I turn the system off in the morning, and how it's somehow not possible to have multiple users/permission sets on the app. I'm not an expert, but all these things seem very doable.

That is the $64,000 question.
You can't. Notifications are on or off, regardless of alarm mode. You could manually turn them off and then hope you remember to turn them back on but as we all agree, that's an awful workaround and no one should have to do that.
Welcome to the club. Please keep asking for these things until SimpliSafe decides to listen to the many customers that are asking for all of this stuff. It's the only way we stand a chance of getting the functionality we want from the system.

It shows a lack of design quality that you don’t have the option to turn off camera monitoring by placing your Simplisafe system in an OFF status.

Couldn’t agree more, when I first received and setup, I called Simplisafe to learn how to turn off cameras when my security system was off. The agent thought I could turn off but soon learned that functionality didn’t exist. This is very poor design on the part of Simplisafe.
