Outdoor camera goes offline

Hi, I recently installed an outdoor camera with the solar charger. Because of the length of the solar charger cable, I can't locate the camera in the best location for Wi-Fi signal strength. If the solar charger cable was six feet longer I could put the camera in a location that has much better Wi-Fi coverage. Because of the location of my router and size of the house, Wi-Fi repeaters cause many other problems.

While the Wi-Fi signal is above the minimum and seems to be working, my network monitoring equipment indicates that the camera is going on and offline. I would like to know if the camera does go offline when it doesn't see any activity for a period of time to conserve battery? Or is it indicating offline because of the weak signal?
