Outdoor Camera Firmware Update - Improved Motion Detection
Over the past week I received the latest firmware update. My two outdoor cameras were working fine with motion detection working out about 20 feet towards the end of my driveway in the front, halfway down the yard in the back. After the firmware update, noticeable extension of effective range with now estimated range well over 30 feet. Sidewalk traffic is picked up earlier and more consistent to the point I have now blocked out that area via the zone tool. Hat's off to the development team with hope to see more improvements in motion detection and....
-addition of Connection Check tool that is available for the Simplicam and Doorbell Pro
-ability to instantly sound the siren from the live streaming tool bar (not just record)
-ability to instantly turn on spotlight from the live streaming tool bar
-ability to turn on both siren and spotlight instantly from the live streaming tool bar

How to we tell if we received the update? Can we do something to initiate the update? Thanks!

I found I have the same strong suggestions for the camera:
No ability to sound siren and turn on light "on demand", even though the box implies that you can.
I sent mine back and went back to using the Simplycam indoor cameras with outdoor kits until the add these features.
and... I found that the outdoor camera does not have the same WIFI connection capability as the indoor cameras. I tested the outdoor camera in same location as I had indoor camera and it could not hold signal.

As noted elsewhere, you can't force this, it gets deployed when it gets deployed. After two weeks or so I start rebooting my cameras every so often just to see if it helps. (I can't say if it does or not...)

This wouldn't be the first time you beat me to the punch, Captain. Outdoor Camera Firmware 1.6 is rolling out starting today, and will be gradually available for all users over the next few days.
