No power to Video Doorbell Pro

After I installed my SimpliSafe system earlier in the year, my video doorbell pro no longer works. I suspected it was due to the outdated and inadequate transformer in my doorbell, so I upgraded to a more powerful that was rated for doorbell cameras. However, there is still no power to the camera and it does not operate. I also want to power the camera without using the doorbell chime. Can I just bypass it and connect both wires from the camera directly to the transformer?

Hi @johnstonkw,

 

As you know, the Video Doorbell Pro is designed to plug into a wired mechanical doorbell system. We would not recommend installing on a different wiring setup.

 

But with regards to troubleshooting your existing unit, we're a little bit at a loss, since it no longer powers on. So the next step is to replace the unit entirely. Please contact our Support team and we'll get an order in ASAP.

@davey_d​ Hi, I'm not trying to install on a different wiring setup. It was, and is, connected to a traditional wired doorbell system. However, my understanding is the old transformer in my doorbell system was inadequate to provide enough power to the doorbell so I installed one that provides enough power. It still does not work. I will see about getting the doorbell replaced.
