Issues with Cameras and reprogramming them frequently

I don't know about anyone else but I am getting tired of having to reprogram these devices all of the time . We have  a doorbell and a camera and these 2 units continue to be a pain . After changing the router out , same user name and pwd , I had to remove the doorbell and reprogram the internet wifi connection . The camera now does not come up at all as I have changed the user and pwd approx  5 times now and I keep losing it . I installed / changed out a Verizon router to a FIOS 3100 router and now I cannot get the camera to come up at all . It keeps saying unable to connect and its about 20 feet away so I borught it approx 10 feet away and the same thing . The router instead of having 2 SSID's shares the same one for both but recognizes what type of connection , 2.4 or 5g . I changed to Compatibility mode from   legacy mode thinking that the unit did not recognize the 2.4 network when trying to register .
Still will not connect

Has anyone had this issue on a 3100 FIOS Gateway Router ?

Thx

Regards

Rich

Solving WiFi connection issues.

My base unit and camera refused to connect to WiFi. I have Verizon FIOS and the 3100 router. I have separate networks for 2.4 and 5Ghz.

I finally solved the issue. I had set the WiFi security to High. This was the problem. Once I reduced the WiFi security to Medium the base and camera were able to connect to WiFi.

Unfortunately the SimpliSafe tech support staff were not able to help. They were recommending sending a new camera. That was not the problem. The issue was the WiFi security setting.

I'd wager SimpliSafe has a big pile of NFF (no failure found) cameras laying around somewhere.

OTOH, maybe they don't ask for the old one to be returned when they send a replacement?
