Indoor cameras no longer detecting motion

Hello all,

I've had my Simplisafe system, including two "Simplicam" indoor cameras since early 2018.  It was always reassuring that when I went down to the basement, my basement stairway's camera notified me of motion.  Until recently I didn't pay much attention to the camera in my detached garage because it would frequently disconnect due to a very weak wifi signal out there.

A couple of weeks ago I finally got a wifi extender and since installing it I have great wifi in the garage.  I reset, deleted, and re-added that camera to connect it to the new wifi SSID and its connection has been rock solid, using all default settings except turning the status light off.  I can pull up a beautiful live view of the garage anytime but I receive no motion detection notifications.

Today I reset, deleted, and re-added my garage camera three times.  (I know the definition of insanity is expecting different results after doing the same thing!)  Still no motion notifications, however I noticed that my timeline has "Camera Motion Detected" entries (but my phone has gotten no notifications) at the times of each of the three re-installs.

Thinking a bit more about this, I realized it's been a week since I received a motion detection notification from my basement stairway camera - while experimenting I had reset, deleted, and re-added that camera a week ago.  Lo and behold there's a timeline motion detection entry from that camera one week ago when I did that reinstall, but nothing since.

SimpliSafe notifications are enabled on my iPhone, which was on iOS 15.6.1 until yesterday when I updated it to 16.1.1.

Does anyone have any ideas about what's going on and/or some things to try that might get my cameras' motion detection working?

Thanks in advance.

Jim in the Chicago burbs (maybe even Captain11's neighbor!)
