Indoor camera motion detection recording with alarm system off?

Can the indoor cameras be set to record motion even if the alarm system is set to off?

Hi @jbradford27 ,

Yes. When your Indoor Camera is paired with a SimpliSafe alarm system, its behavior can be tied to the system's state - through the Shutter setting. In your case, you want the Shutter to be Open in Off Mode, meaning that the camera will record when detecting motion, even when the system is disarmed.

Hi @mark_c6cd17​, 

If you do not want your SimpliCam to detect motion when your system is deactivated, you will want to set its Privacy Shutter to be Closed in Off Mode. You can do this in the mobile app by navigating to Camera Settings > [your camera] > Privacy Shutter and then set the Shutter to be Closed in Off Mode.
