Indoor Camera Motion Detection options

I have an indoor camera .... Is it possible to set up any motion detection options on these cameras like those for the outdoor camera, e.g., poeple only, or a specific region in the field of view [like nest cameras do]?

We live in an area with lots of thunderstorms and my camera watches an area in the living room covering the windows /doors leading to outside and also the room itself.   We haven't hit thunderstorm season yet this year, but I can see it might trigger motion alerts with bigger lightning flashes or rustling vegetation.

Hi @c141heaven ,

By Indoor Camera, I'm assuming you mean the SimpliCam Indoor Camera, which looks like this:

SimpliSafe SimpliCam Indoor HD Wi-Fi Security Camera SSCM1 -open box - Picture 1 of 7

Unfortunately no. The SimpliCam was actually our first ever camera, and it does not have the onboard AI capability required for the People Only setting. However, we do have the new Smart Alarm Indoor Camera coming out soon!

The good news is that you don't need to worry about anything going on outside, if your indoor camera is set up inside. The built-in motion sensor for the SimpliCam uses infrared (kind of like the Motion Sensor for the alarm system), which is blocked by glass. So unless the lightning strikes in your yard, it shouldn't be possible to trigger!
