Indoor camera does not record

My outside camera records and stores video but the inside camera does not. I can see the inside room on that camera but it never stores video. Any ideas how to fix this?

My indoor camera does not record. The exterior camera does. I can see the room the indoor camera is viewing but no recordings take place.

@whipplerand I would ask the same question for you: Do you have your Indoor Camera attached to a system?

The Indoor Camera initiates recordings for the following events:

  • When the system is disarmed
  • When there is an alarm event triggered on the system
  • When the Motion Sensor is triggered AND the Privacy shutter is set to Open.

If your Indoor Camera is attached to a system, then the Privacy Shutter can be set based on the armed modes - Home, Away, and Off.

Sorry if this is a repeat reply.I clicked 'post' and had to login to Simplisafe again.

How do I know if the system is connected? I can't see anything about that on the app.

I live far from this camera. Can I troubleshoot this online?

Why would one camera work and another not?

Thank you for your help.

@whipplerand That is an odd one, especially since you can view through the camera.  I would just call Support and troubleshoot. It may be as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling the camera. I have 3 SImpllicams and never experienced behavior like that. Please post your outcome here if you get a chance, and happy holidays!

Did you ever get an answer to this? Mine is doing the exact same thing.

I am also experiencing this. The indoor camera is registered to the system, I can live view through the camera. When the system is armed and I walk by the camera it does detect me because the light starts flashing, but it has never stored a video.
