Doorbell not enough power?

My doorbell pro is working as a doorbell (chimes inside the house when button is pressed) but I'm getting no light at all when I should be getting flashing white for setup. Is this just a low power issue?

Bonus info: I've taken it off and plugged it into a USB and still getting no light.

Hi @Tylerm, thanks for taking those steps so far. Would you try performing a soft reset on the Video Doorbell Pro and let me know if you see the yellow light when it boots up?

  • Remove the doorbell from its charging plate
  • Press and release the large button on the back of the doorbell
  • Place the doorbell back on its charging plate. After it is back on the charging plate, there will be a yellow light as the doorbell boots back up

That should help to get things communicating again, but if you're still seeing no light let me know, or contact our support team directly with the details outlined here.

I'm having the same issue. Doorbell can make the chime work, but no light comes on when trying to connect to the base. I've tried the reset button on the back of the doorbell, but nothing happens.

@evelynt the Video Doorbell Pro has a small battery that helps with its function, which sometimes needs to charge a little bit before it can be ready. It might help to just let it stay plugged in for a little while before continuing with the setup.

However, if you've already left it for an extended period and the Video Doorbell still hasn't woken up, AND if the reset above doesn't work, then perhaps the issue is with the wiring not providing the right voltage. We have a component called the Chime Connector that can help with this - have you already tried that as well? Our Support team can send you one free of charge!
