Does any of my data (camera/microphones) go via a SimpliSafe server?

Do any of the data feeds from cameras or microphones go via SimpliSafe servers? Or does the mobile app communicate directly with the base-station?
The basic concern here is, will anyone have access to the feeds from the cameras? Live or recorded.

Hi dannyaustin,

Yes, all of the camera data, including your videos, do go through our servers. This goes for both videos saved in the cloud, as well as your livestreams.
But please don't worry. All of that data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, and is fully locked down so that nobody, not even our own employees, can access without your permission.

@davey_d can you link documentation that says this explicitly?

Also are there actual systems in place that prevent employees from accessing this kind of data or is it just processes that prevent employees? If the only thing stopping them from accessing the data is us giving a verbal approval then I question the accuracy of Davey's statement.

@worthing it's definitely a system thing. Like if I tried to go into your account to see your video feed, I'd get a "No Video" error. When we say that privacy goes hand in hand with security, we mean it.
