Camera Privacy Shutter open on "off" mode when "open for HOME mode" selected??
I know about the (apparently) random solid blue light some get when the camera should be "off"..... but, couldn't find my specific issue elsewhere on Forums:
I know the usual default setting for the Privacy Shutter is "closed" for OFF and HOME modes and "open" for AWAY modes (allows for a few extra seconds of video if an alarm goes off on AWAY mode)...
But, I recently wanted to change my HOME mode cameras to "open" so I could keep an eye on my pets without them being disturbed by the "click" of the privacy shutter.
But, when i made this change (only changing HOME to open - but leaving OFF on closed).... the privacy shutter is open EVEN in OFF mode??? (i.e., shutter is never closed in any mode -- and blue light is always on).............
when I change back to normal defaults setting (closed in OFF/HOME) -- everything is fine.... but changing the HOME mode shutter to open also makes the shutter stay open when OFF mode....
anyone else ever have this problem???

Everything was working OK with camera #2 until I disarmed the system from the app while in my driveway. Camera came ON and stayed ON for 2 days. Blue light on, shutter open. It functioned, I could monitor it, but no joy in getting the shutter closed or blue status light off.
They had me reboot the base, remove and reinstall the camera, change the settings to off-on-off; on-off-on; stand on one leg and face north while holding my phone in the air..that almost worked.
This camera appears to be working for now. I am pleased with the rest of the system, it works as intended, but I'm not too confident in the camera. I have not yet tried to duplicate the issue that caused #2 to crap out (fear???) ....but plan on doing so later today.
Call tech support, they have been responsive ...they didn't build the stuff and they DO try to help. Obviously, someone in QC in China is pissed off at the US.

i shut the system off from the car with the app and the camera did NOT come on like last time. I do not have the motion sensor engaged on the camera...too scared. :)

So it sounds like the phone app thinks the system is in 'away' mode when it's not, which is keeping the privacy shutter open. I should be able to refresh my phone app status without having the interactive plan.
Update: I cycled the keypad through different modes until my phone app displayed properly. In 'off' mode with the privacy shutter set to 'away' = open and 'off' = closed the shutter stayed closed. Hope this helps.

Away = Open
Home = Open
Off = Closed
However, when the system is off, the camera stays active despite the fact that Off should indicate it in closed state. I had to set it this way for it to work:
Away = Open
Home = Closed
Off = Closed
When set this way, in Off mode the closed state is respected. This means I lose the Home mode functionality where the camera can be in pre-roll mode.
Is this an actual hardware problem or a software problem?

If you need trouble-shooting an issue, best to call simplisafe and ask for a supervisor if necessary.

If you cannot find these settings, try updating the app!

A Monitoring Plan is required in order for your SimpliCam to receive messages from the system on when it is set to Home, Away, or Off.
If you don't have a Monitoring Plan (i.e. your SimpliCam is functioning as a "standalone" unit), it will activate when the Motion Sensor is activated.

If something was updated/changed.... glad to see. In any event... glad it's working!

To access the Camera settings for each SimpliCam, head over to the ‚ò∞ Menu:
The settings for the individual SimpliCam that you selected should now be displayed. To modify settings for other SimpliCams, you'll need to hit to < arrow on the top left of the page to go back to the main Camera Settings page.

The solution is found is to arm the system at the keypad and let it fully arm. (Use home) Then disarm and the camera will reset.
