Camera offline. Yet it isn't. YOUR server problem?

When watching doorbell camera, about once an hour, the camera will go "offline" on both the Android app and on the web interface.

Yet, a check through the local router will show it IS connected and well and answering pings.

Is Simplisafe having camera server issues?

As we used to say in network TV "Good leaving here".

Hi there,

Really sorry to hear that you're still having trouble. We have not been getting reports of a mass outage, so whatever your cameras are experiencing might be an issue somewhere along the chain between the server and your device.

Personally, I've found that I'll sometimes getting that offline message when I'm in an area with poor service, or bad WiFi. It's not that the camera is offline per se, but that the app was not successful in starting the stream at that time. And if I try again, I can usually get through.

Of course, if you haven't already, we strongly suggest working with our Support team at 800-548-9508. They can walk you through the troubleshooting steps.

Just to add to you data points:

The "outage", as described, happens whether the client seeking the stream is a cell phone or computer on the local LAN. WiFi or hardwired.

If you're blaming ANY connectivity locally, you are mistaken.

I have no desire to sit on the phone listening to someone execute a support script.
