Widget is blank

I was able to add the SimpliSafe Widget to my iPhone but all it shows is the logo and name of the company.  Am I supposed to be able to see what the camera is viewing?

Hi @julie8421, 

Are you able to see anything else in the SimpliSafe mobile app, or is it all blank? You should be able to livestream in the app. I'd recommend removing it from your phone and re-downloading it. If that doesn't help, can you please send me a screenshot of what your app looks like?

The mobile app is working.  I just deleted it and re-downloaded it, then went back to the widget screen and I see the above blank widget.  Should I see anything else in the widget or is it just a shortcut to the mobil app?

Thank you for this screenshot! It appears that not being able to launch livestreaming in the widget is a known issue with our app team. Our devs are currently working on a fix. Once I've heard that this has been resolved, I will let you know. In the meantime, you can still see a livestream of your cameras in the SimpliSafe app.

I have the same issues - this is 2 years old?  No fix yet ?? Here is screenshot of widget when I edit widget there are no cameras available

@thecreen what version of the SimpliSafe mobile app are you running on your phone? If you have an update available, we recommend updating the app.

im showing the same thing. Widget worked for about two days and now it's just these same screens you posted.

@simplisafe_admin this is incredibly disappointing. I've already replaced all of my indoor cameras, I guess outdoor and doorbell are next.

@weshershberger What version of the SimpliSafe app do you have installed on your phone? A fix for this issue was released in the 2300.17.0 update. We recommend checking the app store and downloading the latest update if you haven't already.

I'm having the same issue. After I add the camera widget on my Samsung S23+, I'm able to bring up the camera once, maybe twice.  After that, the widget screen is blank with the exception of the Simplisafe logo on the upper right of the box.  The rest of the box is blank.  At that point, I have to delete and reinstall the widget in order for it to work.

I have the same problem with the widget on an android tab and also phone.  Completely useless! I am very close to changing to arlo or the amazon ecosystem  for outdoor cameras/doorbell

Same issue here.  The Simplisafe widget on iOS just says “edit widget to add cameras”.  When you edit the widget however no cameras show up.

PLEASE Simplisafe team fix this.  I am a long time subscriber, and it’s bad enough not to have any integration into Apple HomeKit or Home Assistant.  Not even having basic iOS widget functionality is inexcusable in this day and age.

@jackbuser What version of the SimpliSafe mobile app do you have installed on your device? The 2300.17.0 release has a solution to this issue. We recommend updating your app to the latest version.

I downloaded the update. It appears they are just camera shortcuts. Which doesn't really do anything if you want to have the widget on your laptop or desktop computer. I guess we will have to wait for Simplisafe to get more advanced
