Simplicam notification help

Hi, pretty new to SimpliSafe and I have been trying to get my simplicam motion notifications to work. I finally got a few push notifications this morning by opening the privacy shutter on all modes. The issue is that I only want to have the shutter open and notifications to happen on away mode. If it is open on off I will get bombarded by notifications from the dog or kids or me or whatever. Hoping someone has dealt with this and figured it out. Again, privacy shutter open on all modes I get notifications privacy shutter open on away only I do not get notifications and I really only want or need notifications on away. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Hi @CJCoug,

Give the following steps a try:

  1. Set the Privacy Shutter on your SimpliCam to be only open in Away mode as you'd prefer.
  2. Arm your system in Away mode.
  3. Wait 5 minutes without being within view of the camera.
  4. Walk in front of your SimpliCam to trigger its motion detection.

If this works, most likely the issue that you were experiencing was the 5 minute timeout period. Because we don't want our users to get spammed with Push Notifications for motion events from our cameras, you will only receive a notification for that if you haven't received a notification for the camera detecting motion within the last 5 minutes.
