iOS App Keeps Logging Us Off regularly

Our SimpliSafe app for our iPhones keeps logging us off at the most random times. Is there a fix to this? We have to keep logging in and getting the two factor code we set up.

New customer here. Since installing our system on the weekend the app has logged us out at least once a day. This is ridiculous. It’s also a serious issue for security; if we need the app in an emergency and it has logged you out you could be in a world of hurt. This should be a top priority guys. Get it fixed. Or this system goes back for a refund.

Have been having this issue for the last six months. Huge security issue - if doorbell is ring I can’t answer, if alarm is triggered I can’t respond, and I use the app to open the door when I get home so I don’t have to stand out.

It is happening again on iOS 16. I recently upgraded to iOS 16.0.3 and I had to log in, again. ADT was more predictable, every 30 days.

@michael_cd803d​ the issue as described by the original post is with the SimpliSafe app itself, not with iOS16.

It's possible that the SimpliSafe app may have been updated automatically already. But you can head over to the App Store on your phone, tap your avatar on the top right, then scroll down to pending updates. Find SimpliSafe and tap update, to initiate the update immediately.

This is ridiculous. I set up FaceID in the app last week, which works, but then it STILL required me to log in manually afterwards, today. MASSIVE security risk if there’s an alarm event in progress!!!

@PatrickGSR94​ I understand the frustration.

It does sound like you enabled the FaceID setting for App Lock.

The way that App Lock works is that it will lock your app, so that every time you open, you need to confirm a PIN - but while still having your account stay logged in. So it doesn't log in for you per se; only makes it so that if you are already logged in, someone can't just pick up your phone and make any changes to your account.

But for that to work, your SimpliSafe app would need to stay logged in, which is the issue we're dealing with here. An update was published to the App Store yesterday that is targeted towards resolving this issue. If you haven't already, we suggest updating your app from the App Store.

Are you saying that you're still being frequently logged out of the Simplisafe app? An app update was sent out more than 3 weeks ago with a fix for this issue. We would strongly suggest updating the SimpliSafe app through your phone's App Store to the latest version.

 

We would also suggest enabling Multi-Factor Authentication, if you haven't already. When enabled, the app should keep you logged in for 30 days.

Yes that’s exactly what he’s saying, and I’m saying it too. Updated to the new version AND I have multi factor authentication enabled. 

forced to login multiple times in the last few days. 

This is absolutely ridiculous and you need to fix it ASAP.

Yes so annoying.  Im tired of constantly having to look up my password and re log in.  And no face recognition.   It logs me out daily.  I have the latest version and an iphone 13 pro

Agreed! The app continually logs me out, making it impossible to check my system in an emergency without first logging in. That doesn't make sense. Please allow a stay logged in option. Also, the new feature to log in faster using face ID just does not work. Everything is enabled to allow it but it still says my Keychain for Icloud isn't enabled so I have to skip that step and then log in almost every day because it logs me out again. So frustrating!

@shelbyfoegelle​ this thread refers to an issue that has already been resolved via an app update. Have you updated your app through your phone's App Store recently?

The current expected behavior is that the SimpliSafe app will stay logged in for up to 30 days, and then you'll be asked to log in again. But not before then.
