Sensors - not connecting. How to extend range?
I'm having issues with the range of the sensors within my home. Entry sensors keep disconnecting or registering open when they are closed. I've tried troubleshooting with the base stations moved around, however front and back doors are far enough apart, and through thick stone walls that either one is unreachable at a time. I understand the sensors work on low frequency RF, which typically works ok through walls, for things like my outside boiler thermostat controls. Is there a recognised way of extending the range of the base station or sensors? If not, Simplisafe, please develop something to deal with this issue. Otherwise this system is useless to me, and I presume many others.

Agreed! The limit of the base station totally cripples this system. So far, support claimed the only way to resolve it is to add a 2nd system, with another base station. That means two monitoring bills. Not doing it. My house is only 1500 Sq ft. $1,000 in equipment and $30-$50 per month can’t cover it? Unacceptable!

If the problem is the broadcast range of the base station, what would happen if you used two of them?

I've been a Simplisafe user for some years, have 31 devices connected, and really only have one major complaint about the system - the inadequacy of its sensor antennas.
My home is a ranch style, so its a bit more spread out than a multistory home. For years I've put up with spotty connectivity on several sensors - until I found the links below that "gtalarico" mentions. I've since modified 2 entry sensors and 1 motion sensor and their connectivity issues were immediately resolved. I've three more I will probably modify - that's 20% of my sensors with inadequate antennae! It should be an embarrassment for Simplisafe that, after so many years, it took a user to solve a problem like this instead of Simplisafe, and it certainly has lowered my opinion of them.
For the user community (since Simplisafe is unlikely to know), has anyone done the antenna calculations for Simplisafe water leak sensors?
