screws for a steel door (door entry sensor)
I have a
steel entry door.
The wood screws supplied with the installation kit did not work on the steel door.
I used the sticky tape approach. However this is a heavily used door and the sensor fell off the door after about a year. And the police were called because we thought we had a break-in.
I do not want to use sticky tape again to attach the sensor.
Does SimpliSafe offer any steel tapping screws or screws that i can use to permanently attach the sensor to the steel door?
If so, How would I order them?
If not, what is the best solution here?
Thank you
Dave

Thanks for the tip of drilling a pilot hole.
Would you by any chance have any idea what size screw I would need to use? When I did the tape mount approach originally, I threw out the original screws.

Our Support team can get you some replacements. Just give us a call at 800-548-9508!
But if you wanted to stick with the tape (pun not intended), we would suggest replacing with a stronger type. We recommend 3M-brand Command Adhesives. They even have the "outdoor" kind that holds on extra strong, so it might be good for that high traffic area.
