PIR Placement
I have researched PIR placement and while opinions vary on having a body walk towards the PIR, cross the beams to break the beams or have the PIR mounted OVER the top of a door and have the body move away from the PIR. SimpliSafe video guide says the PIR should be mounted in a corner and have the beams crossed by the body, however, SimpliSafe Chat Tech just advised me to place PIRS to where bodies walked towards the PIR.
I have expectations that the PIR tech cannot be too different from one manufacturer to another, however I want to be sure I install the first time correctly, my time is valuable and I do not want to waste time install or moving PIRs again.
So pipe in and let me know what you suggest is the best installation location and why you make the suggestion.
Thank you very much for helping put this to bed.

Hi @scottvincent,
I can confirm that the setup video is correct. To recap for the Community, "PIR" refers to passive infrared, which is how the Motion Sensor works; it looks for sources of heat that are moving around in the room. Since the sensor is very simple, it knows that something is moving when the hotspot takes up different points in its field of view.
So in short, the sensor has a better chance of detecting an intruder if they were moving across the view.
