Outdoor Use???? Does not work in Extreme conditions
Hello! I'm a current Simplisafe user --- now just using the cameras. I used to have/use the lock as well but it posed several problems for me.
I used it for an outside gate & have only been using it for 6 months. It seems when it became hotter, a red peg inside it gets broken & therefore does not allow for the lock to move {opening or closing}. This was extremely problematic as I was using it for an AirBNB property & have had guests locked out. I was sent a new peg but in 2 days, it was broken again. I went ahead & just bought a different brand & got that installed. I paid for the handyman to install, reinstall the Simplisafe several times & now , the new lock & have spent several hundred dollars. And money as well for the lock that doesn't work.
I'm letting you know that the system does not work for outside use.

Hi Maureen,
It's worth noting that the Smart Lock wasn't designed for this specific use case as an entry point to an outdoor gate. The Smart Lock was designed so that the interior facing component isn't subjected to the elements, such as weather and specifically high temperatures.
