motion detectors keep creating alarms

Set them to Alert Only and tinker with mounting location, orientation, height, and sensitivity until you're satisfied you get no alerts. Then, set them back to normal mode/trigger in away.

But, far as I'm concerned, the only way to guarantee zero nuisance alarms with pets is to not have the motion detector set to trigger alarms, or not have any at all (pets or motion detectors...choose one ;) )

@trish_42533  good advice from whoru99, but would go a bit further after you set your motions to "alert only".  My daughter's family lived with us for months this past spring and summer due to the pandemic and besides her, our son-in-law and grand daughter came their 2 cats.  I first took all of the motions to "off". With that as a base, then moved the settings to "alert only" the next day and started with all of them on high sensitivity. As the cats tripped them in home mode (we arm the system at night with all sensors active on first floor and basement) I would move the offending sensor to medium. Two weeks later six motions on the first floor were all set to low.  I did confirm they all covered the needed areas the the cats didn't set them off.

Yes, a lot of work but it worked out that Nonna, Poppy and the rest of the brood are happy, including the cats. (Their names are being withheld to protect their identity. :-)

You can get it to work with some patience. Good luck, and post your outcome here if you get a chance.

Thanks for the advice and will tinker with the monitors but just as an FYI I was told that anything under 60 lbs would not set them off. Trust me my cat is not 60 lbs:)) Again, thank you.

PS - looked in the app for sensitivity settings but could not find them under device settings. where are they??

LOL. whoaru99, thank you for filling in the gpas.  @trish_42533 my apologies for typing faster than my brain.  The motion sensors are programmed to use a humanoid figure and that amount of heat, but cats are not as predictable as dogs, as they climb everywhere, including the top of my very, very thin high def tv.  At that position, the cats were very near my family room motion sensor. I moved the sensor to the opposite side of the room and provided good coverage and no false alarms.
